Background Check Disclaimer

At My Soul Connector, your safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. To foster a trusted community free from fraud, abuse and harm, every member must complete identity and background checks before joining the Platform.

 

1. What we check: - Identity verification: a valid government‑issued ID and a live selfie are required to confirm your identity. Identity documents are submitted to a third‑party verification provider and are not stored on My Soul Connector’s servers. - Background screening: we compare your details against publicly available records to confirm accuracy and detect risks. Detailed background‑check records are held only by the verification provider off‑site. - Safety safeguards: where permitted, we may check for issues related to fraud, harassment, safeguarding concerns or other behaviours that could compromise community safety.

 

2. What these checks mean: Verification helps create a safer, more respectful environment but does not guarantee future behaviour. No system can eliminate all risks. Members should remain vigilant, use in‑app safety tools and report any concerns immediately.

 

3. Your consent: By registering with My Soul Connector you give explicit consent for us and our authorised third‑party provider to carry out identity and background verification. If you decline these checks you will not be able to access the Platform. Any attempt to falsify or manipulate documents will result in immediate account suspension or termination and may be reported to the authorities.

 

4. Privacy & data protection: All checks are carried out in compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your data is encrypted and stored securely by the verification provider; My Soul Connector receives only verification status and limited outcome metadata necessary to operate the service. We do not sell or share your information except where legally required. Verification data held by My Soul Connector is deleted once it is no longer necessary in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

 

5. Fee timing: The background verification fee (where applicable) is charged when the third‑party verification process is started. See our Refund & Payment Policy for full details.

 

6. Important disclaimer: Background checks significantly reduce risks but cannot guarantee that every user is safe or free from risk. By using the Platform you accept that you remain responsible for your interactions and personal decisions.
